This is the official privacy policy of the SQUASHMETRIC app.

Privacy Policy (English)

Effective: October 22, 2026 · Last updated: October 22, 2026 · App: SQUASHMETRIC (com.ghosting.squash), phone + Wear OS

1. Summary

SQUASHMETRIC does not send the information it collects anywhere. There is no developer server, and all the training and health information you enter stays on your device. The app is currently free and has no payment features. If a paid subscription is introduced later, this policy will be updated before then (section 5).

2. Information the app stores

All information is stored only on your device, in the app's private storage.

CategoryItems
ProfileName (or nickname), age, sex
Additional information (survey, optional)Height, body weight, activity type, athlete/coach level, squash experience, self-rated level, grade, club or affiliation, country and region, training days and hours per week, lower-limb injury in the last 6 months, jump (plyometric) training experience, unit system
Health questionnaireYes/no answers to the 7-question pre-exercise health check (PAR-Q) and the date answered
Pre-test condition (optional)Hard training the day before, caffeine or alcohol in the last 24 hours, hydration, fatigue/sleep/soreness scores (1–9), whether you chose "exclude from trend"
Training recordsTraining mode, duration, sets/levels completed, assigned grade, date and time, how hard the session felt (felt easy / hard but finished / could not keep up). Each record also keeps the survey values at that time (such as weight, height and level), so editing the survey later does not change past records.
Match simulation recordsGame combination, games planned and completed, tempo level, number of re-draws, how the match ended, rally types and rallies planned and completed per game, average and maximum heart rate per game, heart rate at the end of each game and after the 90-second rest (recovery heart rate)
Heart ratePer-second heart rate samples (time + BPM), maximum and average heart rate, anaerobic zone, heart rate efficiency index, court maximum heart rate measured in the fitness test and when it was measured
EstimatesEstimated VO2max, reaction time, movement speed
Periodization statusCycle number, start date, baseline level, weekly target number of sessions
Cycle completion recordsCompleted cycle number, completion date, baseline level at the time, number of sessions during the cycle
App usage recordsWhen you consented to heart rate use, the date you first opened the app

The name is free text and does not need to be your real name. The app uses it only to group records together. The survey and the pre-test condition check are optional; you can skip them and still use the app. Lower-limb injury and pre-test condition are health-related, so like the health questionnaire they are stored only on this device and never leave it.

3. Health questionnaire (PAR-Q)

The fitness test is a maximal-effort exercise that continues until you can no longer keep up, so the app asks 7 health questions before you start (and again once a year). Your answers are stored only on this device and never leave it.

Your answers are not used to block you from training. If you answer "yes" to any question, the app recommends that you consult a doctor before starting, and you decide whether to proceed. Deleting the app's data also deletes your answers.

4. Heart rate information

Heart rate is sensitive health information, so the app asks for separate consent before receiving it. Until you agree, the phone app does not accept heart rate even if the watch sends it. The consent screen states what is collected, why, how long it is kept and your right to refuse, and you can withdraw consent at any time in Settings → Heart rate consent. After withdrawal no further heart rate is received; heart rate already saved stays with those training records and is deleted when you delete them. Everything except the heart rate display works without consent.

The Wear OS watch app reads the watch's heart rate sensor and sends the readings to the phone app. It uses the health.READ_HEART_RATE permission on Wear OS 5 and later, and BODY_SENSORS on earlier versions. This transfer happens only over the direct connection between your phone and watch (Wear OS Data Layer) and does not go through the internet. You must grant the permission on the watch yourself. If you deny it, only heart rate measurement stops working; all other features remain available.

While the watch app is measuring heart rate, a "measuring heart rate" notification and an icon at the bottom of the watch face are shown.

5. Transfer, sharing and advertising

Training and health information never leaves your device. The app has none of the following:

  • Communication with a developer server
  • Analytics or crash reporting tools
  • Advertising or use of the advertising ID
  • Sharing or selling of data to third parties

Payments. The app currently has no payment features. After the three-month free launch period, the Company plans to move to a paid subscription (Terms of Service, section 4). If it does, payments will be processed by Google Play and the app will store which plan you subscribed to on this device. At least 30 days before that change, this policy will be updated and announced, and you will only be charged if you separately agree.

6. Backup

The app uses Android's standard backup feature. If you have turned on Google backup in your device settings, the information above is stored in the backup area of your own Google account.

  • This is a feature of the Android operating system; the app developer cannot see its contents.
  • Backups run roughly once a day while the device is idle, charging and connected to Wi-Fi. Records created after the last backup may therefore not be restored.
  • If you lose or reset your device, or reinstall the app, signing in with the same Google account restores your records as of the last backup.
  • Android backs up at most 25 MB per app. If this app's data grows beyond that, new backups stop and only the previous backup remains.
  • Backups do not count toward your Google Drive storage and are free of charge.
  • If you turn off Google backup in your device settings, this app's information is not backed up.

7. Retention and deletion

Your information stays on your device until you delete it. You can delete it in three ways:

  • Delete records one by one in My reports
  • My reports → Delete all my records: deletes all training records and the periodization status. Your profile (age and sex) and survey answers remain.
  • Uninstall the app, or clear the app's data in system settings (all stored information, including your profile, survey, questionnaire and consent records, is deleted)

Because the developer does not hold any of your data, there is no data held by the developer for you to request access to, correction of, or deletion of.

8. Children

This app is not designed for children, and it does not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Not for medical use

All values shown by the app, including heart rate and estimated VO2max, are for training reference only. They are not measurements from a medical device and must not be used as a basis for diagnosis or treatment.
